Easily and effectively create your own colors  using these dyes on our Teleios Polar White cable sleeving.

How to Steps: (Directions will be for a 6 quart pot so adjust measurements accordingly if you have a bigger/smaller pot).

  1.  Using a pot (6 quarts or more) fill with water (about an inch in a half from the top using a 6 quart pot) and place it on a stove top (must be able to bring the water to a constant 200F).
  2.  Bring the water to about 200F ( it should be steaming and about to simmer but NOT boiling).
  3.  Add about 1/3 of the bottle of dye into the water and stir/mix well.
  4.  Take the sleeving and make a coil. Use ties (preferably sculping wire or thin zip ties) and bind together lightly two sides.
  5. Use a timer and dunk the coiled sleeving into the pot of water/dye mix. Start the timer as soon as it goes in.
  6. Continuously agitate the sleeving in the water with stainless steel prongs or wooden prongs (do not let the sleeving sit on top of the water).
  7. Timing will depend on how dark you want your color to be so experiment with times. For lighter color saturation around 5min should be suffice.
  8. Carefully check the sleeving during the process by quickly bring it to the surface for a color check (Note that the color will look slightly darker then after you rinse it).
  9. After you are satisfied with the color, take the sleeving out of the pot and place it in a warm separate pot of water to rinse. Take note of the time.
  10. Agitate the sleeving in the second rinse pot. It is normal for you to see dye come off of the sleeving. This is just extra that did not take to the sleeving hence why it may look a little duller than before.
  11. Take it out of the rinse pot and gently shake free any water in the sink.
  12. Let dry in a clean area and do not put the sleeving in the sun to dry. Drying can take a day or so.
  13. Done! Inspect your new color!

(Extra Safety and or maintenance steps)

  • Be very careful around the near boiling water. Turn off stove/heating element right after you are done.
  • You can add more dye to the water if you want a deeper color or to lessen the time but you won’t get a very saturated color.
  • It is normal for the sleeving to become slightly enlarged or “wavy” in shape. Once you sleeve with it will stretch out and flatten.
  • The colors are more of a pastel color so do not expect deep dark colors!
