Cable Sleeving Wire
We spent a long time perfecting the best 16AWG wire for use with cable sleeving and this is it!
Our custom 16AWG cable sleeving wire has an outer diameter of just 1.9304mm! This is very important when trying to crimp terminals onto this wire, and be able to get your sleeved cable into the connector. Our Ratchet Crimper works perfectly with this wire in crimping on the necessary terminals. A lot of 16AWG wire that you find at your local hardware store has insulation thicker than 2.2mm making it very difficult to nearly impossible to crimp terminals onto it while still being able to fit the sleeved wire into the connector.
This wire’s insulation is made of durable PVC which holds a higher quality than that of silicon insulation. It also allows for better rigidity for your terminal and when training your cables.
We went even further to make sure this wire uses tinned copper to aid with soldering! Since tin is a primary component in solder, this wire makes it easier to use when soldering together those pesky double wires. Tinned copper is also better protected from corrosion than non-tinned copper wire.
We also needed a wire with very faint writing on the insulation and this wire pasts the test. The writing won’t bleed through your sleeve especially our Teleios, and Coreless Paracord sleeving thanks to its incredibly tight weave.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which gauge wire do/should I need? 16AWG or 18AWG?
A: It depends on your application but either gauge can be used for your: ATX, EPS, PCI-E, SATA, or Molex cables. 16AWG wire holds its shape better than 18AWG wire so it generally is better for forming or shaping your cables around in your case. A downside is that the cables will be harder to bend, so if you are using a smaller form factor case this may not be ideal. 16AWG wire also fills out the sleeve more and gives the cable a more “heavy duty” feel.

Seems to be of top quality. Easy to strip, crimp, solder, sleeve. No problems, would happily buy more.

Good Quality Made in the USA! Exactly what I needed for my custom cables, I was doubtful of using 16 AWG but since I received these cables, I couldn’t have made a better decision than to go with MAINFRAME products. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a DIY solution.

This cable fits well into the terminals, pretty thin even at 16 guage, so its easy to work with. Very sturdy as well.

At 16awg, it gives the most stiffness to be able to control the way the cable runs. Why have floppy unreliable power or cables?

Such a good wire for first time sleeves. I just started out, and the thickness of the cables makes it please to work with. Also nice being able to bend it in the right place for aesthetics. Very pleased with this wire. It is also very easy to work with.

Testing various wire from local shops and hardware stores, this wire vastly surpasses them all. It’s 16 gauge allows for the perfect fit in the paracord sleeve with normally use. The semi rigidity allows for the training of cables to really form to a shape well. My new go to for wire anytime we have a custom cable order!

High quality 16 gauge wire; will exceed OEM wiring in all respects! Stranded, tinned, with thin wall insulation (appears to be irradiated PVC). This means it will cut clean, sleeves well, and handles soldering heat without creeping back or melting. It also will handle higher current than 18AWG wire with the same overall diameter. Pricing was very reasonable, I only wish I could get full spools (like 50 ft).

This cable is really nice quality. I was worried about crimping with 16AWG wire with crimpers. However, this custom wire pairs perfectly with the MFC Crimper. The wire is stiff enough to train and hold shape. Doing heatshrinkless sleeving with this wire is a no brainer. A++++
Be aware that a fully sleeved 24-pin ATX cable with this wire has a wide 180 degree bending radius. The bend i’m referring to is from the motherboard connector going in and behind the motherboard through a cable hole in close proximity.

This cable is just fine : it is easy to bend the way you want to give the cables a nice curve. It is also easier to crimp on it beacause of the 16AWG thickness.

Alright first review! So lets get started.
What I used 16awg wire for was to replace some double wire pins. As well as making all of my sata power connections.
There’s nothing wrong with using a smaller gauge wire for very short cables in my opinion.

It’s wire; it’s hard to say much beyond that. However, it definitely is thinner than regular hook-up wire and is much less expensive from here than any other source I’ve found for wire this thin. I like that I was able to buy 100′ in one continuous length though it would have been nice to have received it on a spool instead of a hand coil.

Ordered 50ft for my project. Very good wire which fits snugly in the terminal pins, sleeve hugs this wire nicely.
I don’t suggest trying to double-crimp ATX/sata terminals with this wire, its much too thick. I tried and ended up using wire from a 20 ga sata harness which came with the PSU for my double-crimps.

Was a little worried when I ordered this as I didn’t know how it would perform. No worries now. Very easy to work with for my custom cables. Sleeves easy too!

Fantastic wire! Very simple to work with, strips well, and makes for easy crimps. Worth the money compared to anything you’re going to find on Amazon, believe me, I tried.
