Here is a tool that is a must for paracord sleeving. This tool will save you hours of work and save your paracord from having little rips and tugs in it. Its also very easy to use and is a MAINFrame Customs exclusive Tool.

Lets show you how it works:

lc4

First you find the Female ATX side of the crimped wire – the inside of the Paracord Threader is milled just for this side.

lc5

Next you insert the sleeved wire as far as it will go – it should feel secure inside of the tool.

lc6

Then you take your paracord that you have slightly singed with your lighter to make it stay into place and pull it over the tool and the wire.

lc7

Then you pull the tool and wire all the way to the other side of the paracord and then once outside of the paracord you can remove the tool and feel free to continue sleeving.
Its a simple tool that saves you a ton of time. We personally wont sleeve paracord without it.

Paracord catches everything, This threader stops that.

Good tool, but used a different route for getting the wire through the paracord.

I initially balked at 12 bucks for this little guy, but ended up going for it after doing a six-pin with just electrical tape to cover the pins. The tape worked, but it was super tedious. This threader made my remaining 8 and 24 pin cables a breeze. My only complaint is that it didn’t auto-melt the ends for me.

I’m not sure how many times I have used tape and threaded paracord sleeving onto my wires but it is always a guessing game as to whether the tape will stay or even work for that matter. This has cut my sleeving time in half… Easily… This has been the best investment as far as sleeving tools go that I’ve made and comes highly recommended from me. This fits snuggly on atx psu pins and even paracord removal from the wire is easy with this. My only gripe is that it does not fit molex pins (but lets be honest how many people are using molex, unless you have to). Great product and worth the price!

You don’t need this to do paracord sleeving but it sure makes it a lot easier.

I personally suggest using this if you are doing any significant amount of sleeving or just wish to be more efficient.

One thing which kinda of bothered me is that not very many of the terminals on the cables I was sleeving would fit snugly and would pull out part way through the paracord. This was frustrating, but I solved it by melting a bit of heatshrink around the sharp part of the terminal, and it allowed the terminal to fit perfectly in the end of the threader. Once I figured out this little tip, I had no issues with the rest of my project. It’s a neat tool and it does it’s job well.

This is a great tool that will save you a ton of time and effort if you plan to sleeve anything more than an 8-pin connector using paracord. You don’t want to try pulling a crimped wire through paracord without covering the terminal, it’s going to snag repeatedly and tear up your sleeving, messing up its appearance. You could wrap the terminal in a bit of tape before pulling it through, but you have to do this for each wire and that time adds up, plus the tape sometimes leaves a bit of residue on the terminal leaving it kind of sticky. This threader simply snaps over your terminal and gives you a nice rigid section to inch your sleeving over. Once you’ve pulled your wire all the way through, the threader pops right off with no damage to the terminal. It’s a huge convenience.

I’ve also found the threader to be useful in pre-melting the ends of my sleeve. Normally after you snip off a length of paracord and pull the internals out, you want to melt the ends a bit to keep them from fraying out and coming undone. The problem is that paracord likes to close in on itself when melted and if you’re not careful, you may end up melting the hole shut. If you insert the threader into the sleeving such that half the threader is covered and then melt the end, the threader will prevent the hole from closing and you’ll end up with a perfectly round hole. The threader will not be damaged from the heat of your lighter, although it will develop some black soot which can easily be wiped off.

This has been one of the best purchases for sleeving I’ve made. It makes using paracord super simple! Built great, fits great.

  17. krsgiles (verified owner)

This paracord threaded is PERFECT. The wires fit in the end great, and actually snug enough they won’t fall out of the back in the middle of a thread, yet won’t damage the connector. Saved my paracord from alt of snags and unsightly bunches. Don’t try and be cheap, this is worth every dollar.
